Luciana Paluzzi

The actress Luciana Paluzzi was one of the many gorgeous Italian brunettes groomed for international stardom in the wake of the tragic Gina Lollobrigida. After appearing on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1950s on films like Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958) Luciana Paluzzi had a shot at American TV fame in the character of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. When she was in 1965, she met with the Bond producers in order to be considered as the lead character Domino Derval in Thunderball. When the role ended up going to former Miss France, Claudine Auger and director Terence Young offered her the character of the villainess Fiona Volpe - one of the few women on the world who can resist the attraction of Mr. Fiona Volpe is murdered in the midst of a dance floor by Bond's own friends, maybe to punish her for her deeds. James then places her corpse on a table, and then asks "Do you mind that my friend stays at home?" She's just dead." Luciana's success as a European film star was made even more exciting by this big-budget blockbuster. Her roles included films like Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Klansman and The Greek Tycoon. Luciana Luciana Luciana
