Ricci was one of the 4 children who were born to Sarah Murdoch and Ralph Ricci in Santa Monica, California. Her mother, a Ford Agency actress in the 1960s and later a real estate agent. Her father was a lawyer, who also worked as a counselor for drug abuse, who also taught primal theraputic therapy and a trainer for gyms. Ricci said that she was Italian because of her father's name. A few generations back in the past, an Italian couple tied the knot with an Irish woman. They had a family of sons. More children were born and many Irish wives were married. Ricci relocated into Montclair from Italy along with her family. She was a student at Montclair High School as well as Montclair High School. She attended Professional Children's School, New York City.
