Maureen FitzSimons's achievements as a young performer in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would be a sure signification for her to the child-prodigy category. But for a person of Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family, those were not innate traits. Maureen entered into this nurturing home on the 17th of August 20th in Ranelagh. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lililburn FitzSimons a talented contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the second child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this wonderful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was young and became very adept at it. The combination of this natural interest and her talent in performing was astonishing. That was apparent when she won each Feis for drama and theater that Ireland had to offer. At the age of 14 she joined an organization called the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying operatic and classical vocals.
