Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to study at the London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. She managed to make it with the stipend she received from her students while working part time jobs. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill when compared with her peers and contemplated a possible alternative path she might follow. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band prior to her group being invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent competition New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist for The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics.
